1. Measures by Health Authorities
- For non-compliance with the Health Regulations,
A. Surveillance: None.
B. Quarantine (Periods reckoned from day of departure): 6 days or until certificate
becomes valid (whichever comes first) if arriving from an infected areas.
(* For Bangladesh and Pakistan, also if arriving from the whole
endemic zones in Africa and South America.)
- For Quarantine expense, it is not borne by the airline concerned but charged to the passenger.
2. Period of Validity
- Primary Vaccination: 10 years beginning 10 days after vaccination.
- Revaccination with the 10 years period: 10 years beginning on date of revaccination.
* The old certificate has to be shown during the first 10 days after revaccination
* Irrespective to the date of issue, all yellow fever vaccination certificates must be considered
valid during 10 years.
3. Protection
- For Travel to infected areas in Africa and South America, vaccination which is effective
for at least ten years is recommended.
- Some countries in Asia are also very strict in their requirments for yellow fever vaccination
of travellers from Africa and South America.

5. Yellow Fever Endemic Areas
- Yellow Fever Endemic Areas are areas in which Aedes Aegypti (Mosquito) or any other
domiciliary vector of Yellow Fever is present but is not obviously responsible for the maintenance
of the virus which persists among jungle animals over long periods of time.
