The Silk Road
- The Silk Road was opened in the 2nd century BC, starts from Changan
(now Xian) in the east and passes through the Hexi Corridor in Shaanxi and Gansu
provinces. Xinjiang's Tarim basin and central Asia to the east shore of the
Meditterranean. With a total length of more than 7000 km, it was a throughfare linking
Asia to Europe. The length of its section in China is more than 4000 km. Along the Silk
Road are many places of historical interests. They are also areas along the road inhabited
by minority nationalities, featuring their unique customs.

Sanya
